As you are probably aware, NBC got the rights to air VeggieTales episodes, and then proceeded to rip the heart out of them by requiring the removal of all “non-historical” references to God. I wrote a couple posts about the whole thing: one that turned out to be stupid, and one mea culpa.
Well, I wandered over to Phil Vischer’s blog tonight, and saw that he had recently posted that the last few episodes that he sent to the slicers and dicers came back with no editing requirements.
Phil has no idea why, and I really don’t think anyone ought to try to delve into this too much. Let’s just leave it as one of two things:
- God working a miracle along the lines of the border guards not seeing the Bibles in Brother Andrew’s front seat
- Something strange happened in the TV execs’ “brains” — and we all know what a dark and scary place that is — we really don’t want to go there
