road trip

Posted by: Brendt   in road trip, theological rants

I’ve ranted before about “watch-blogs“, sites that scour the internet, looking for the specks in their brothers’ eyes. One of the blogs that I read is a group blog called CRN.Info and Analysis, which watches the watchers (hey, somebody’s gotta do it), noting inconsistencies, lack of charity, and the profound lack of the very discernment that they pride themselves in allegedly having.

I recently joined the “staff” at CRN.Info and Analysis and will be posting there from time to time. I am trying to make sure that I keep my spirit in check that I’m not (a) looking for an ego stroke from the commenters that agree with me, or (b) spoiling for a fight with the ones that don’t. Rather, I just want to join some kindred spirits, and maybe present an idea or two to someone who might not read my blog.

Rather than just post the whole enchilada on my blog and over there (not that I’m decrying my fellow writers who do), I’ll just tease it here, and point you over to the full article. I’ll also classify these under the category of “road trip”.

I posted my first article over there on Wednesday afternoon. Here’s the beginning* of “suddenly, it all becomes clear”:

Charles Spurgeon was one smart cookie and often quite the theologian. But he missed the mark on this one, and the error is actually quite telling.

Over at TeamPyro (where Chuck gets the floor at least once a week), a Spurgeon quote was posted . . .

Read the rest here.

* OK, that’s not the very beginning — I introduced myself first. But it’s the beginning after the introduction.
